1. Select "System Preferences" from the Apple pull down menu.
2. Select "Accounts" from the system preferences window.
3. Select "Login Options" in the accounts window.
4. Select "Join" next to "Network Account Server".
5. Click the "+" button and type the server name (function1.mime.oregonstate.edu) in the Server field.
6. Click "OK" and then "Done".
You may now close the accounts window; your computer is configured to talk with the Open Directory. If the server is responding correctly, a green light should appear beside the Network Account Server.
Finally, to verify, open your address book. Directory Services should now be listed under "All Directories", and you should be able to search through the directory to access the address cards of each of the DeLab users.
